God is good, people.
so so so sooooo good.
and He loves these babies.

Let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice

I just heard about your book, got your book, and finished your book - and that wasn't enough! So I'm glad that I can come here and read more more MORE about your beautiful journey! Thank you for being His instrument :)

Now... on to catching up with your blog - and starting all the way back with where it began!

I also recently heard about your book. My roommate has it and I'm next in line to read it. In the meantime, I'll read your blog.

I also found your blog through your book. I went to a mother/daughter tea themed heroines, and one of the moms had chosen you, and brought your book to show us all. She started telling us about you, and by the time she was finished I decided that I absolutely HAD to read your book. I've been interested in working with orphans since I was as young as 4 or 5. I just turned 18 a couple days ago, and I'm still not sure how everything's going to turn out exactly...I don't have any specific plans, only that in one way or another I'm sure it will include working with orphans one way or another. The mother/daughter tea was back in May. I went online to request your book from my library the first chance I got...but there was a looong line, so I've just got it and I just started reading it today. I've read up to the 4th chapter so far. Thanks so much for what you're doing, and for writing Kissis from Katie! It's defiantly encouraging so far, the things you've said. I'm not rich at all, but in a lot of ways I've found I can relate with you. And I love how you were just younger than I am when you began...it's all very inspiring!! At some point, it was mentioned you had a blog (I think Beth Clark mentioned it in the forward...). Of course, I immediately looked in the back of the book, hoping for the web address, and of course I found it. I looked it up as soon as I got home, and to my surprise, not only was it still there, you just posted a few weeks ago! And so I very excitedly embark upon the journey of reading your entire blog as well as your book. Like I said, I've really enjoyed everything so far....and I'm sure the rest will be just as amazing. And on a side note, you've already taught me something quite interesting..."juxtaposing" really didn't look like a real word, but it's in the dictionary! ;) Thanks again for doing what God led you to do...and for writing and blogging about it!!

Sorry my comment was so very looong...

For the children,
Jessie

I found your blog and started reading because I was interested in what came after the book. Now I find myself going back to the very beginning to read it all again. It brings tears of joy and sadness and every other reason in between.

Katie, I recently inhaled your book in a matter of days, and have just read through near all of this blog, repeating a process that you've probably heard of others taking many many times.

For someone who has spent a little time in East Africa and feels a perpetual tugging back - despite my work in youth development here in New Zealand - this past few weeks has been an uncomfortable wrestle, as God once again reminds me of the deep hunger in my spirit for this work, for care and compassion, for absolute abandon to Jesus and his call to serve the poor, the sick, the hungry, the orphan, the widow, the homeless... to serve Christ himself.

Two favourite bits: The hilarious line "This morning i almost grilled a lizard in my toaster" and at the end of the book where you said you were praying for the reader. I was floored by that.

Thank you for being willing. Now I have a lot to pray about.

Elliot

Hello Katie,

My name is Sarah I just recently started reading your book and I love it so far! I go back an re read pages and learn about your journey and the way your friends and the people you've touched so deeply with the love of Jesus. I am 15 right now and for the past few years I wanted to become a teacher in a 3rd world country and to help children that don't have the blessing I do and the things I take for granted and they would be overloaded with joy to have. Your journey has really touched me and makes me want to go more than ever despite all the struggles that come with it but if it's a chance to change one persons life for the better with the lords help its all worth it. I truly admired all the work you have done for these people. I hope to someday accomplish my goals with lords love and support he will give me. You have truly inspired me. Thank you Joshua 1:9
