Lord, had I a thousand tongues, I would praise you with all of them...

I cannot begin to thank you for your prayers. They have overwhelmed us with the peace, calm and joy that can only come from the Lord.

I wish with all of my heart that I could tell you the WHOLE story of how the Lord showed up and moved mountains today.. But since a certain someone won't be finished legalizing all our new paper work until next week, I feel it is best to wait.

I will tell you this though: Mr. Someone showed up an hour early. I was shaken. The first hour did NOT go well. But at 10 am. Oh, your prayers softened even the hardest heart. The power of those prayers pressed down all around us until the presence of God was so tangible in the room even a non-believer could not deny it. Words came out of my mouth that were not ever planned in my mind.

I meet Mr. Someone again tomorrow and hope and plead and pray he will keep the words he promised me today. I have a good feeling though... How could I not!

He truly IS able to do more than all we could ask or imagine.

I am deeply, incredibly, humbly grateful. So thankful for the Lord and His great mercy and Compassion, that He sits so high upon His throne and would look so low as to take an interest in my problems. So thankful for His word that has been the solid rock I can stand on, the promise I can rest in. So SO thankful for you, brothers and sisters, the body of Christ, standing with me, holding up my arms, encouraging and stregthening my heart.

I would feel so greatly honored if, as you pray for us throughout this week as we are waiting on our papers, we could pray for you as well. There is nothing sweeter than the opportunity to stand together before the Mighty One, praising, thanking, asking for eachother.

Oh Katie this is so wonderful. I have been praying for you and hoping and imploring that whatever happened gets better and now my prayers are answered! I LOVE to see how God works like this. It's just one more confirmation that he is real and with us and wonderful and TRULY awesome!

What an honor it has been to lift you and your sweet girls to the Father. We don't know each other, but God knows us both and loves us so tenderly. :)
Would you pray that God would show my husband and I, specifically and miraculously what we are supposed to do? Or even if it's just wait. We know God is moving in our family and He is about to require something big from us. Pray that we would not get the vision clouded but see clearly what is HIS path. Thank you so much.
May our King's richest blessings pour on you and your sweet family.

"As long as Moses held up his arms, the Israelites won, but when he put his arms down, the Amalekites started winning.12 When Moses' arms grew tired, Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady until the sun went down."

Praise the Lord, our God never fails! My scripture this morning:

Mat 21:21,22 "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself in the sea' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer"

Your family is secure in His arms.

Please pray for my family. Join me in giving praise to Jesus for the gift of my precious daughter Africa Elizabeth Swarbrick, born last week 16 Sept 2009. May her whole life be for His glory! Through her He has already brought my wife and I closer to him.

Africa will hear of you Katie; your calling, your life and your girls. Maybe one day she will even meet you, my wife is from Kampala. God bless you as we continue to pray for you.

I missed your offer of prayer when posting my first comment, so if you would please, pray for Polly, my neighbor, 43 yrs old, mother to two grown boys and a teenager daughter, who is going Home to our Lord soon, and very soon, due to pancreatic cancer. Please pray for her journey, and for the family she leaves behind, especially her daughter, who will feel orphaned, though she has a father and stepfamily. Thank you!

Praise Him for being there on your behalf! It's so awesome to here how our wonderful God moves in your lives. It's so inspiring to my family and i who are about to embark on our own journey. We will be moving to somewhere in Asia to work on behalf of children and the families that care for them. Please pray that His will is done and that His continued guidance directs our lives. That our eyes, ears, and hearts are open for what he has in store for us all. I am meeting with a man this Friday to start the process of forming our non-profit. Our families are having a hard time understanding why we must do what we must do, They think it's unfair to our children, taking them away from the opportunities here in the States. But as you and I know they will have many more and greater opportunities where we go, as long as we follow God. Thank you so much for the opportunity to pray for you and your children. Be blessed in all you so, I know you are. He who began a good work in you will continue it until the day that Christ returns!

how much do i love prayer praises. :-) thanks for keeping us posted. have been praying for your sweet family and will continue to do so.

my prayer request is that God will show me what to do with all the thoughts running through my mind these last few weeks. so many things have happened lately that have convicted my heart that my relationship with Him these last few years has been very much in word and not so much in deed.

as i read your posts, i'm reminded of times earlier in my life when i was so entrenched in the Word, so in love with him...and i was unbelievably joyful. He's blessed me with a great life and i've allowed that great life to gradually erode the time i spend in fellowship with Him and serving Him. i'd like to find that again.

Oh Katie...so thankful and praising our Lord as well that all went well. I texted Gwen when I thought there might be some news and got a postive text back! From the first time I found your site and was led into your world and what our Awesome God is doing through your hands and heart, I saw a "tangibleness" (is that a word?) that I had never seen before. I became broken in places in my heart and spirit I did not know existed. He is so present! When I see your family picture of you and the girls, I don't just see joy and laughter...I see Jesus! You say you are so thankful that He would sit on His lofty throne and care about your problems...I am thankful He hears my small voice crying out to Him on your behalf and for your girls. We will continue to pray for you and Mr. Someone.

Katie, I just found your blog about a week ago and it is absolutely incredible. You just radiate and exude Christ's love! It brings me so much comfort and encouragement knowing that you are there on the front lines and the lives of those around you are in such good hands, both yours and our Lord’s. I just want to quickly share with you a passage that I read last night that instantly made me think of you. It is from Ruth

“And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.

The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.”
Ruth 2:11-12

I know that you have left so much to be where He has called you to be, and I ask and I know that our Lord will recompense your work, and a full reward will be given you and that His wings will forever be over you and yours. I will not ask you to pray for anything on my behalf, the knowledge that I have a sister like you in this world, who is accomplishing so very much on our Lord’s behalf, is more of a blessing than you will ever know! Thank you so much for what you do! You are in our hearts and you are on our minds! Give your girls a hug from me!

In Him,

Blake A.

For you showed sympathy . . . . Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. Seriously, every story and every photo just left me in both awe and anguish. in awe of God who continues to come through for you, but in anguish for the suffering of the children and for the burdens you bear. reading your story has really impacted how I view my own life. In some ways, I hope to be like you, in other ways, it's not my calling. But I'm glad Jesus makes us sisters. This is so beautiful. You are beautiful.

Will continue to pray because I know that God can do all things...thought you might like this quick story....happened to my niece last week.

...."she and her two daughters were on their way to a homeschool meeting. And while driving daughter forgot her apple at home. She was quite upset because it was to be part of the dessert they were making for the homeschool work. My niece started to pray and ask God to somehow provide an apple for S. She also had no time to stop at the grocery store or they would have been late. So while they were driving, they turned a corner onto the cul-de-sac where they were to meet and an apple from a tree by the neighbours house fell off the branch right in front of her vehicle. Well, she jumped out and grabbed the apple and just started praising God."

What a reminder that if God cares about a little girl not bringing an apple, and answers her mothers prayers.... how much more He cares and hears the cries of a mother (you) and your children in Uganda. God is going to do incredible and awesome things with this situation....we truly will stand in awe of His majesty and power. Amen.

I recently found your blog through a friend, and I LOVE it. You are an incredible godly woman. I will continue to pray for your precious family. God has given me a heart for orphans since I was a little girl myself, and specifically African orphans in the last year. Please pray that God will make clear to me how I can serve and reach orphans for Him. I currently teach kindergarten at a Christian inner city school and love it. My husband is in grad. school for Christian counseling. We are very happy with our life here, but I have such a burden for African orphans. I know that God won't call me to Africa and leave my husband here, so I just want clarity and wisdom on what I can do with this passion God has placed in me. Thanks!!

There are a few big court days coming up when the decision to leave them with us or return them to their birth parents will happen. They both suffered horrible things while with the birth parents and are terrified of having to go back. We are begging God to turn the heart of the judge in our (and the girls') favor. We would love to have your prayers joining ours. Thank you for posting your life for all of us to read. It has been encouraging, challenging, heartbreaking and wonderful.
