Eight-year-old Angela Amoiti lives deep in the Ugandan village of Buyizia. As we travel on the washed out roads, Angela informs us this is her first time in a motorcar. Winding roads and thick trees hide the home where this beautiful girl lives with her mother, father, and sister Sarah.

Neighboring children meet us on the road and walk alongside the car to Angela’s home... read more about my friend Angela here

Hi Katie,

I am a 20 year old 2nd year college student from Victoria BC Canada.. I am interested in teaching kindergarten in Uganda. What program did you initially go through?

Blessings your way and thank you for walking as a Christian and not just claiming to be one. <3

Hi Katie, I just watched your video today. http://www.faithit.com/this-high-school-girl-left-home-after-graduation-and-became-a-modern-day-mother-theresa/ I am so thankful that I stumbled upon it. You changed how I feel about my life at the moment and through you I realized that I have drifted away from my role and passion as a Christian to serve others. Thank you. And Thank you Father for this wonderful day. Please give Katie the strength that she needs to spread Your love to those children today. Let her inspire others the way she inspired me. Thank You for working through her, Father. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

Katie, all the things you do are so amazing! I must say that you are living my dream... i spent 2 yrs in west Africa in a mission project and the african life won a place in my heart. No one can describe the joy and fufillment that those little brown eyes can give you when they look up with such a trust into your own unless you've been there yourself...it's priceless. My heart aches to go back and walk down a dusty brown path with little black hands thrust deep in mine. You are doing a wonderful WONDERFUL work and may you continue to be wonderfully blessed as well! I'll pray for you and that God will continue to give you courage...

I have been praying for a long time that God would reveal His plan to me though something. I have always had a heart for missions, orphans, and Africa in General. Although I never have been. I am so excited because I am going on a Mission trip this summer to Africa. I am reading your book and The Lord is slowly capturing my heart for Africa. You are a true inspiration and I am so very grateful for your example! I am praying for Katie and love you so much in Christ!

You have so touched my heart! Or maybe it is God that is pricking me. Just read your book and am encouraging all my friends to read it too. I'm sure your girls will grow up to be wonderful Christian women. Thank you for pushing yourself to jump into the will of God. I pray that he will make my life come closer to his will for me.

Katie,

from what it appears you have going on...you may be too busy with other important things to read these posts.....but if not...you have peaked my interest back in the states..and touched my heart..(here in Memphis, TN)

A link from Regions bank pointed me to your website...Thanks to Regions...

I have purchase your book and eager to reading...should arrive today or tomorrow.

The call to feed, cloth and provide physically is first given by GOD to the fathers, mothers and immediate family. By embracing these children and families you have indeed stepped in and became a "mother" to them and us in a odd sort of way.

Though some don't see the call to "feed" as glamorous as going to Africa to help, we are in a Great famine spiritually in the states...biblically and scripturally. Biblical knowledge, understanding and application is sadly a foreign concept to secular as well as non-secularist.

All can pitch in this great work by examining our own hearts and studying to show ourselves approved and changing the imperfections. Thereupon reaching out in our local communities to "feed" those around you that are starving for biblical understanding, guidance and help even when most of the time they don't know it.

If and when you are scheduled to come back to states....it would be an pleasure to meet someone with such a heart of sacrifice....do you post where and when you are going to be returning?

Your ability to abide in humility makes this all the more special.

One of HIS servants...

Hi Katie,
I hope you are able to read this. In school my principle showed us a video of you and your story and it simply inspired me. When I grow up, I want to be like you- glorifying and honoring God in everything you do and sharing his love to others. Thank you Katie. You changed my perspective on life.

Katie you inspire me in every way. I know you may not see this but I would just like to tell you that me and a couple of other friends are doing a leader project on you, and you are our leader. I look at your photos and think, OH I want to be like her. I'm still thinking about it, even though im still 13 Maybe God is also leading me there I don't know. But you have also made me more closer to God. You, your stories, and your book inspires me, thank you
